Simon Malls, Mills and Premium Outlets launched a Back To School campaign in August. The campaign - "Find Your Style" - spoke to Mom by tapping into the nostalgic feelings and memories she has about going back to school herself, and spoke to the kids by breaking down the season's style trends (90's nostalgia, off beat and modern utility) which are inspired by Mom's era. The centerpiece of the campaign was a fun commercial/video that played on the nostalgia theme and featured Moms sharing their best (or worst!) fashions from their school days with their astonished kids.
A social throwback campaign further engaged Moms and brought the campaign to life, and resulted in thousands of comments and shares. Once the campaign is fully complete later this month, the campaign will have achieved over 200 million impressions across Television, Digital and Social.
The campaign at Simon centers and online, targeted at teens, will feature three seasonal trends inspired by 80s and 90s fashions - Off-Beat, Modern Utility and 90’s Nostalgia - that can all be found at Simon.
Off-Beat: Hit the right note in an unexpected mix inspired by the music scene. Cheeky slogans, bold graphic patterns and bright colors turn up the volume on sweaters, souvenir jackets and sports gear.
Modern Utility: Olive and khaki are the new neutrals this fall. Get to know these fashion basics and outerwear accented with punky patches and feminine touches.
90s Nostalgia: Fall back to the 90s this season with must-haves circa 1994. Get ready to rock inspired plaids and flannels, high-rise jeans, denim-on-denim and combat boots.
