Simon Recognized As A 2017 Global Leader For Its Commitment To Sustainability

Simon, a global leader in premier shopping, dining and entertainment destinations, has been recognized by the CDP for the 9th year for its ongoing leadership and demonstrated commitment to sustainability management and energy conservation.

Simon has earned an A-, a score achieved by only 18 percent of companies responding to CDP, for its sustainability initiatives in its own operations and beyond, by setting meaningful targets and emissions reductions activities. Specifically, Simon was recognized for its governance and strategy, risk and opportunity management, emissions management and quality of the third party verification of the company's emissions calculations.

In addition, Simon received a "Green Star" rating, the highest designation by The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark in 2017 for the third consecutive year.

"For Simon, sustainability is a business approach that enhances long-term stockholder value by embracing opportunities and minimizing risks in economic, environmental and social areas," said Mona Benisi, Simon's Senior Director of Sustainability.
